The Short.io alternative for agencies that want to sell, not just manage
Short.io is the price and performance leader of this category. What it does not do is let your clients pay you inside a product that carries your name.
When to look for an alternative
Start with what Short.io gets right, because it is a lot. Five custom domains on the free plan. Automatic Let's Encrypt certificates on every tier. Pro at $18 a month with unlimited links and unlimited clicks, which as of August 2026 is the best raw value in the category and better than anything in our grid at that price. Thirty-plus data points per click, 26 months of aggregate retention, a year of raw clickstream, A/B testing on every plan, and an API that gives 50 requests per second to everyone including free accounts, with four maintained SDKs. Six edge locations, a claimed peak of 200,000 redirects per second and 50 to 75 ms redirects.
For one team running its own links, that combination is very hard to argue with, and this page does not try. The gap is elsewhere. What Short.io calls white label is link branding: your domain on the short URL, their brand on the product. There is no rebrandable dashboard at any tier, multiple teams are Enterprise-only at $148 a month, and there is no reseller program, so client subscriptions cannot exist inside the platform. Retargeting is also thin — Meta and AdRoll only.
The practical shape of the problem: an agency with twenty clients on Short.io pays for the capacity, sends twenty invoices by hand, and shows every client a dashboard that advertises a vendor they could have found themselves. LinkProfit is the same daily workflow — create links, watch analytics, hand out access — with the client relationship and the money flowing to you.

| Capability | Short.io | LinkProfit |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks included | Unlimited links and unlimited clicks from Pro at $18/mo. Better than our allowances at that price. | 100,000 tracked clicks a month on Starter, 500,000 on Growth, 2,000,000 on Scale. |
| Cheapest paid entry | Hobby $5/mo, Pro $18/mo, Team $48/mo with 50 domains, Enterprise $148/mo, 17% off annually. | Starter $49/mo, 20% off on annual billing. We are the more expensive product and are built for a different buyer. |
| White-label dashboard | No white-label dashboard. What Short.io calls "white label" is link branding: your domain on the short URL, their brand on the product your clients log into. | Full rebrand: logo, colours, favicon, login page, emails, your dashboard domain from Growth. |
| Reselling and client billing | None. Multiple teams are an Enterprise-only capability, and every team is billed to the same account holder. | Your plans and prices from $5/mo, cards charged through Stripe Connect, payouts to your bank, platform fee 15% / 12% / 10%. |
| Multi-client isolation | Multiple teams on Enterprise ($148/mo), billed to one account holder. | 50 / 250 / 1,000 client workspaces by plan, each with its own users, links and subscription. |
| API rate limits | 50 requests per second on every plan, $50 per month for each additional 50 rps, four official SDKs. | 600 requests per minute on the base tier with priority on Scale, available from Growth. Lower than Short.io and not offered on Starter. |
| Custom domains | 5 custom domains even on the free plan, 50 on Team. Let's Encrypt certificates are automatic on every plan. CNAME target cname.short.io, apex A record 207.174.61.1. | 3 / 10 / 30 by plan, automatic certificates on all of them, plus a dashboard domain from Growth. |
| Retargeting pixels | Meta and AdRoll only. | Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and custom pixels. |
| Deep links | From the Team plan ($48/mo). | iOS and Android deep links on every plan. |
| Analytics depth and retention | 30+ data points per click, 26-month aggregates, 1 year of raw clickstream — the deepest retention we found. | Geo to city, device, browser, OS, referrer and UTM per click, at least 12 months retention, 24 months on Scale. |
| Redirect infrastructure | 6 edge locations, claimed peak of 200,000 redirects per second, 50–75 ms. | Cloudflare Workers edge redirector with a dedicated ingress IP on Scale. |
| Traffic filtering by network type | Not part of our August 2026 data set. | Up to 20 ordered rules per link plus a workspace-wide set: conditions on network type (data centre, VPN, public proxy, TOR, web proxy), verified-crawler check by address, quality score, country, region, city, autonomous system, address list, local hour and first-versus-repeat visit. Actions: pass, 404, 410, redirect, branded stub page, warn. |
| Geography and network detail | 30+ data points per click, 26 months of aggregate retention and 1 year of raw clickstream — the strongest analytics depth among the vendors we checked. | Region and city with GeoNames identifiers, coordinates with an accuracy radius, network and provider with human clicks separated from total, visitor and proxy type, and activity by the visitor’s own local hour. Place names in 8 languages, resolved for the reader. |
| Conversion and revenue attribution | Not part of our August 2026 data set. | Signed click identifier in the URL and a first-party cookie on your own domain, per-workspace attribution window, server API and a browser script served from your domain, whole-cent amounts, atomic deduplication by order, and revenue in every existing breakdown. |
| Control over what is stored and for how long | Retention is fixed by plan: 26 months aggregate, 1 year raw. | Retention is a per-workspace setting written into each event, so rows are deleted by the storage engine rather than hidden from reports. Three location detail levels and switches for network, full referring address and traffic-type detection — all applied at write time. |

Domains: the same mechanics, a different unit of ownership
Short.io was early to make custom domains painless and it still shows: five domains on a free account, automatic certificates everywhere, a CNAME to cname.short.io for subdomains and an A record to 207.174.61.1 for apex domains. Fifty domains on the $48 Team plan is generous by any measure, and more than our 30 on Scale.
Our domain model looks similar at the DNS layer — CNAME to cname.linkprofit.com, or an A record to the IP issued to your account, with certificates provisioned automatically through Cloudflare for SaaS and our ingress. The difference is what a domain is attached to. Here a redirect domain belongs to a client workspace, so client A never sees client B, and a client who leaves takes their domain and their links with them without touching anyone else.
The second domain is the one Short.io has no answer for. From Growth you point app.yourbrand.com at us and that is where clients log in. There is no equivalent on Short.io at $18, at $48 or at $148, because branding there stops at the link.
White-label and reselling: Short.io for agencies, that pays you
The phrase white label is used loosely in this market, so it is worth being precise. On Short.io it means your domain on the short URL. It does not mean your logo on the dashboard, your name in the login screen, your address on the notification emails, or your invoice on the client card statement. None of those exist at any tier, and there is no reseller program to build them around.
The closest thing the market offers to that missing piece is Replug, whose Agency plan at $99 a month does give a genuinely rebranded dashboard. Even there the economics run the wrong direction for an agency: the plan includes ten workspaces and each additional client workspace costs $8 to $10 a month, and the client still pays the agency outside the platform. You pay per client rather than earning per client.
LinkProfit inverts that. Clients are the thing the plan is sized around — 50 on Starter, 250 on Growth, 1,000 on Scale — and each one subscribes to a plan you defined at a price you set, from $5 a month upwards. Stripe Connect handles the card, sends the payout to your bank account and deducts the platform fee, so a new client adds revenue on the day they sign up instead of adding a line to your own bill.
Price and limits: where each product wins
On pure cost per click, Short.io wins and it is not close. Pro at $18 a month with unlimited links and unlimited clicks beats our Starter at $49 with 100,000 tracked clicks and 10,000 links, and the API allowance of 50 requests per second on every plan is more generous than our 600 requests per minute, which starts at Growth rather than Starter. If your requirement is volume for one team, buy Short.io.
The comparison changes when a plan has to carry paying clients. Then the questions are how many workspaces are isolated, whose brand is on the login page, and who collects the money. On Short.io the answers are Enterprise-only, theirs, and you-by-hand. On LinkProfit they are 50 to 1,000, yours, and the platform.
Our fee structure reflects that: $49, $149 or $399 a month, 20% off annually, plus 15%, 10% or 7% of what your clients pay you, negotiated from 8% on Enterprise. Ten clients at $19 a month on Starter is $190 of client revenue, of which the platform fee is $28.50 — the arithmetic is meant to be checkable rather than impressive.
Migrating is a CSV, not a project
Short.io is one of the three importer presets we ship, so a CSV export from their dashboard uploads without column surgery: slugs, destinations, titles and tags land in the target workspace at 1,000 rows per batch. If you are running several clients on shared Short.io domains, import each client into its own workspace — that separation is the part you cannot retrofit later without re-issuing links.
Because Short.io hands out real custom domains rather than only a shared hostname, most migrations here are unusually clean: the domain is yours, the slugs are preserved, so repointing the CNAME to cname.linkprofit.com keeps every existing short URL alive with no change visible to anyone clicking them. Keep the Short.io subscription running through the DNS propagation window, then cancel once traffic on the old endpoint has stopped.
Frequently asked questions
Can I migrate my links from Short.io?
Yes. Short.io is a built-in importer preset: export CSV, upload, and slugs, destinations, titles and tags are preserved at 1,000 rows per batch. Since your domains are genuinely yours, repointing the CNAME keeps every existing short URL working exactly as before.
Short.io is cheaper. Why would I pay more?
Only one reason: you want to sell the service rather than consume it. Short.io Pro at $18 with unlimited clicks is better value for a single team. LinkProfit costs more because each plan carries 50 to 1,000 isolated client workspaces, your branding, and the billing that turns those clients into your revenue.
Do my customers see LinkProfit anywhere?
Not from Growth ($149/mo) upwards: your dashboard domain, your logo, your email sender, no powered-by mark. On Starter the dashboard lives on a linkprofit.com subdomain with a small powered-by mark. Short.io shows its own brand on the dashboard on every plan, including Enterprise.
Is the API comparable?
Short.io is stronger here. They allow 50 requests per second on every plan, sell extra capacity at $50 per additional 50 rps, and maintain four SDKs. We provide a REST API and webhooks from Growth at 600 requests per minute with priority on Scale, and no API on Starter.
