Workspace Basics for Clients
Sign in to your branded dashboard, create a first short link, organise links with folders and tags, invite your team and find your numbers.

A workspace is your own space inside the link service you subscribed to: your links, your domains, your team, your reports. Nothing you create is visible to another workspace, even one belonging to the same provider. This guide covers the first hour.
Step 1. Sign in to your dashboard
Your provider runs the dashboard on their own address, so there is no separate site to remember.
- Open the dashboard address your provider gave you. It is either their own hostname, such as
app.brand.com, or a subdomain of the platform. - Register with your email address, or accept the invitation you received and set a password.
- If your provider enabled social sign-in, use Google or GitHub instead.
Sessions are tied to the exact address you sign in on, so bookmark it.
Step 2. Create your first link
The fastest route is the quick shortener on the overview screen. Paste a destination address, press the button, and you get a short link on your default domain with a generated code, ready to copy.
For anything beyond that, open Links and select Create link. The General tab asks for:
- Destination — the address the link opens. It is validated as you type, so a typo is caught before saving.
- Domain — which of your available domains the link lives on.
- Short code — generate one, or type your own. Availability is checked while you type, and taken codes are rejected immediately rather than on save.
- Title — a human name for the link, used in lists and searches.
- Tags and folder — how the link is filed. Both can be created inline.
- Comment — an internal note nobody outside the workspace sees.
Save, and the link is live within a couple of seconds. Every other tab in that dialog — expiration, password, targeting, splits, deep links, UTM, social preview, pixels and QR — is optional and covered in Creating and Managing Links.
Step 3. Organise as you grow
Ten links need no system. A thousand do, so start early.
Folders are exclusive: a link sits in one folder, or none. Use them for structural divisions that rarely change, such as a client, a product or a year.
Tags are additive: a link carries as many as you like. Use them for what cuts across folders: a channel, a campaign, a quarter.
Search and filters work together: search by address, destination or title, and filter by domain, tag, folder and archive status. The whole state of the list lives in the page address, so a filtered view can be pasted into a message and opens the same way for a colleague.
Archiving takes a link out of the everyday list while keeping its history, and an archived link stops resolving. Deleting is permanent. Prefer archiving.
Step 4. Bring in your team
Open Team and invite colleagues by email address. Each person gets a role, and the role decides what they can change.
| Action | Owner | Admin | Member | Viewer | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Create and edit links, QR codes, campaigns | Yes | Yes | Yes | Read only | | View analytics | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Manage folders, tags and pixels | Yes | Yes | Yes | Read only | | Change the plan and payment method | Yes | Yes | No | No | | Manage API keys | Yes | Yes | No | No | | Invite and remove people | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Give clients and stakeholders the viewer role: they see everything and can break nothing. Seats are set by your plan, and the invitation form tells you when you reach the limit.
Step 5. Find your numbers
Each link shows its clicks for today in the list and on its own page, next to badges for the behaviour you configured: a password, an expiry date, targeting rules, an active split. The link page also holds the QR preview, the settings dialog and the archive and delete actions.
The Analytics section aggregates the whole workspace rather than one link. How much history it keeps depends on the retention period of your plan, which your provider sets.
Everyday shortcuts
- Every list row has a copy button, so you rarely need to open a link to use it.
- Select several rows to archive, restore, tag, untag, delete or export in one action.
- Export CSV downloads the selection or the whole filtered list, tags and folders included.
- Press Command-K, or Control-K on Windows, for the command palette: jump between sections or create a link without leaving the keyboard.
When you hit a limit
Links, tracked clicks, domains and seats are capped by the plan you bought from your provider. Reaching a cap does not lose your work: the dialog stays open and offers the upgrade page instead of failing the save. Plan changes and payment history are under Settings, and billing questions go to your provider.
