Unique click
A click counted once per visitor within a period, so repeated requests from the same person do not inflate the total.

A unique click is a click counted once per visitor inside a period rather than every time the request arrives. It answers "how many people", where the raw total answers "how many times" — and the two diverge the moment a link is pasted somewhere people revisit, such as a pinned post or a bio page.
Uniqueness needs an identity, and the honest ones are deliberately weak. This platform derives a salted fingerprint that is rotated every night and never stores the visitor's address, so a person who returns tomorrow counts as unique again, and the same person on a phone and a laptop counts twice. That is a privacy property, not a bug — see what is stored for the exact boundaries.
The usual mistake is reading uniques as reach across a campaign. They are unique per link and per day, so summing them over a week or across several links double-counts anyone who came back. Compare periods, do not add them.
